Derived from the words Shankh (conch) and Prakshalana (to wash or clean), Shankh Prakshalana is a cleansing technique that flushes the entire gastrointestinal tract, from the oral to anal, by orally administering saline water. The practice involves performing a series of specific yoga asanas to help move the water through the digestive tract.
Laghu Shankha Prakshalana (LSP) is an excellent practice for dealing with gastrointestinal problems such as constipation, flatulence, acidity, indigestion, and many other ailments related to the digestive tract. Additionally, it contributes to instant weight loss, lowering cholesterol levels and boosting haemoglobin. By cleansing the entire colon system of impurities, LSP promotes better overall health. The treatment is administered over three days.
